At 220 miles the River Severn is the longest river in the British Isles. It rises in the Cambrian Mountains and then flows through the counties of Shropshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire, and just a short drive from Lodge Coppice. A six-mile stretch of the Severn Valley in Shropshire, known as the Ironbridge Gorge, was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. The Severn is a must river to explore and it’s so close to our Park.

If boat trips and river cruises are for you there are lots of options, with The River King being the closest passenger cruise option to Lodge Coppice, or if you prefer a self-guided waterway experience Starline Narrowboats have day hire.

For the more adventurous it’s great place to canoe, kayak or paddleboard. Whether you are a beginner or an expert there are lots of places to take to the water; whatever experience you are looking for from 90 minutes to 5 days!
