Enjoy our peaceful, well-stocked fishing lake in the heart of the Shropshire countryside. Lodge Coppice’s on-park fishing lake offers a quiet, scenic setting surrounded by woodland, making it the perfect spot for both beginners and experienced anglers looking to unwind.

This is our holiday home and touring caravan owners facility and we do not sell permits to external visitors.

At Lodge Coppice static caravan holiday park, we pride ourselves on maintaining a calm, natural environment. Our lake is a shared space where we balance the tranquility of fishing with non-motorised watersports, creating a unique and vibrant atmosphere for all our holiday homeowners and seasonal touring caravan guests.

How to Fish:

Daily Access & Opening Times

To ensure a high-quality experience and to protect our fish stocks, we operate a structured check-in system.

  • Opening Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm daily (closed Thursdays).  Fishing is only permitted during these hours and no overnight fishing unless authorised.

  • Maintenance Day: Please note the fishing area is closed every Thursday for essential maintenance.

  • Availability: We offer 6 designated pegs, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Check-In: Please visit the Warden’s Office between 8:00 am – 8:30 am or after 10:00 am to show your rod fishing licence and sign for your access fob.

  • Returns: Fobs must be returned to reception if you finish early so others may fish. If finishing at 5:00 pm, please drop your fob into the black key box located next to the defibrillator.

Note: Access fobs are for single-day use only and cannot be pre-booked or shared. Lost or unreturned fobs will incur a £10 charge.

Essential Lake Rules

To keep our waters healthy and our park peaceful, all anglers must please adhere to the following rules:

Licensing & Safety

  • Valid Licence: All anglers aged 13+ must hold a valid Environment Agency rod fishing licence.

  • Platform Fishing Only: Fishing is permitted from the 6 designated wooden platforms only (one angler per platform). No bank fishing is allowed.

  • Rod Limit: Maximum of 2 rods per angler.

  • Supervision: Children must be supervised by an adult at all times while on the platforms.

Fish Welfare & Biosecurity

  • Biosecurity: All nets, slings, and unhooking mats must be dipped and sterilised at our station before entering the water.

  • Fish Care: Use appropriate landing nets and unhooking mats. Hands must be wet before handling fish.

  • Fish First Aid: Anglers must carry and use appropriate fish antiseptic/treatment on hook holds or visible wounds.

  • No Keepnets: We operate a “Wet Nets Only” policy. Keepnets are not permitted.

  • Catch & Release: All fishing is catch and release. No fish are to be removed from the lake.

Bait & Gear

  • Bait Restrictions: No groundbait and no floating baits are permitted.

  • Cast Within Bounds: Please cast only within your allocated area and respect the spacing of neighbouring anglers.

Environment & Conduct

  • Shared Waters: Always please give way to watersports users. Please retrieve your lines immediately as watercraft approach.

  • Cleanliness: We have a strict no littering policy. Please take all discarded line and bait waste with you.

  • Peaceful Atmosphere: Please keep noise to a minimum. No pets, fires, BBQs, or excessive alcohol are permitted in the fishing area.
